The particulars of its organisation, functions and duties

 

Andhra Pradesh Vigilance Commission comprises a single member, designated as the Andhra Pradesh Vigilance Commissioner, appointed by the Governor on the advice of the Government. The Commission will address the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary. E.O Prl. Secy., Spl. Secy, Secretary and E.O Secretary as the case may be in relation to the subjects reports concerning them. In exercise of its powers and functions, it will not be subordinate to any department and will have the same measure of independence and autonomy as the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission. The Vigilance Commissioner will be responsible for the proper performance of the duties and responsibilities assigned to the Commission from time to time and for generally coordinating the work and advising the Departments/Government Undertakings/ Government Companies and such other Institutions as may be notified by the Government from time to time, in respect of all matters pertaining to the maintenance of integrity and impartiality in the Administration. The Commission will have the jurisdiction and powers in respect of the matters to which the executive powers of the State extends. The powers and duties of its officers and employees

 

The Commission has been provided with such staff as may be necessary for the proper discharge of its duties and responsibilities, in consultation with the Vigilance Commissioner for his assistance. The staff includes administrative, technical and legal officers.

As prescribed in Paras 6 (v) to (xvi) of G.O.Ms.No.421 G.A (SC.D) Dept dated 3.8.1993. Officers and staff of the Commission assist the V.C in discharge of his duty of tendering advice on vigilance matters etc

Commission does not hold any documents. It only maintains the shadow files of the files referred to by the Departments for recording receipt and disposal and advice tendered by Commission.

The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with, or representation by, the members of the public in relation to the formulation of its policy or implementation thereof;

Any person of any walk of like can file petitions/ suggestions to Commission regarding corruption in public service and suggest remedial measures to fight it out. Complaints can be addressed to Commission directly at its official address either through website, e-mail or in writing.
